Business Executives: 7 Habits That Could Lead to Failure

Contributor: Dean Masters

Sounds Riveting? In fact, it is! These Seven behaviors are so deadly nobody wanted to be branded as unsuccessful in their own respective fields. Thanks to Sydney Finkelstein, of Why Smart Executives Fail (2003), for sharing these so-called life-threatening traps to the mass and by exposing the important signs and patterns of failed business executives.

Now, If you’re presently a high-flying executive of a certain corporation, or a hot-shot and top producer in your firm, or just starting in business, either by your own or inherited, then this semi-gripping book is not to be ignored.

Here are the Seven behaviors, you need to watch-out!

ONE: THEY THINK THEY DOMINATE THE ENVIRONMENT

Successful business executives are Proactive in nature because they know that nobody can stay on top of their market or in other words industry forever. They are always on guard, as circumstance/s may arrive without early notice.

TWO: THEY THINK THEY ARE THE COMPANY and Vice Versa

There is an alarming research on the causes of major business failures, and the problem was executives who trapped in this standard tend to make an unwise decision/s when they treat or feel their company, as an extension of themselves.

THREE: THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS

In short, they are “Control Freaks” who refuses to accept counseling, recommendations and suggestions from their peers or subordinates. For these Executive, no one can be trusted except themselves.

FOUR: THEY ELIMINATE ANYONE

(Especially those who are not 100% behind them)

Did you know that eliminating all uncooperative, and opposing subordinates is a rookie mistake? Yes It is! Successful business owners or executives are gifted with unparalleled vision.

They know that we have a limited eye-sight and they need all the data (good or bad) in their table, before making any decision.

They can see the roads on impassable terrains and they don’t need the majority in their company to unreservedly support their vision.

FIVE: THEY LIKE TO BE SEEN AS THE COMPANY'S  “The Man!”

Business Leaders who normally with this type of "show-up attitude" are shallow and ineffective people. Instead of actually accomplishing things, they are "settling" for showing of accomplishing things.

SIX: THEY TREAT ALL OBSTACLES ARE NON THREAT

Executives who are used in solving technical problems in their past careers are susceptible to this behavior. For them, all problems are solvable, even in fact, it’s insolvable or at a major cost.

SEVEN: THEY STUBBORNLY RELY ON THEIR PAST STRATEGIES

They never hesitate to re-use, recyle or apply their old (successful) strategies on an updated case, issue or problem. This approach must to be avoided!

CONCLUSION:
