Lucky Feng Shui Siem Reap Trip!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a story of a two-60-year old guys on a quest for a 5-day-stay trip overseas
under $100 budget.

Did we achieve that? Yes! With a bit of luck and Feng Shui!

I hope'you'll like it.

Life is so easy now don’t you think? Technology, Mobile Apps, Online-Buying, Video-Chatting, etc.

Actually, eCommerce made life a bit laid back and online promotions are very helpful especially when you needed them. I am not a spoiled brat traveler, but if I can maximize my budget and get better perks with my bookings (e.g: Free Airport Pick Up, Breakfast and WIFI connection), I’ll take it.

I was fishing for a deal when I caught something interesting on the web, a “Five-Room Feng Shui Concept Hotel in Siem Reap.” I find it exciting and it’s what we want (In town, but not in-downtown, far from the crowd and commercialized shops), so I booked and submitted our birthdays (I was assigned to a Wood Room while my buddy’s at Water). Everything was confirmed, and the next thing I know, we departed the Philippines on the month of April via Cebu Pacific and being picked up (complimentary) by our hotel driver at Siem Reap International Airport. We arrived at the hotel 15 minutes later, then escorted straight to our rooms. Too tired from our trip, we easily dozed off.

In the morning, I went to call my buddy for breakfast. We ate by the pool and there we met the owner. From our small-chat, I learned that our elements, Wood and Water complement each other - no wonder why my buddy and I were close. She’s very informative and thoroughly expound her boutique concept, but also apologizes for being small and simple, pet friendly, and no restaurant, neither reception. She may be right, but for me, it’s homely, full of charisma, genuinely massive rooms, minimalized décor, and we’re being treated like friendly neighbors, which we highly preferred.

The hotel Location is just perfect. Walking distance to convenience stores, coffee shops, spas, ATM machines and local restaurants (specially the congee shop just beside the hotel serving huge Pata Tim, good for 3 people for only $6.00).

In the last day of our stay, we paid our dues and before leaving, we spoke to the owner of how grateful we are in meeting her. Since I am the culprit of this booking, I told her that we've got a Lucky Feng Shui Siem Reap Trip – we learned a lot, enjoyed ourselves and we met the budget requirement in a 5-day-stay!

We’ve been dropped off at the airport (complimentary), happily departed Siem Reap and promised to come back again at 5 Elements Boutique!

I lied about the $100 budget per person. My total expenditure is more than that (after counting all the tips we’ve given), but it’s all worth it!
